Biography

 

Born in Venice. Childhood in Italy, Egypt, the US and Berlin.
Early discovery and promotion of the musical and drawing talents.
College of music and theatre studies in Bern, University of Bern, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Zurich Hochschule der Künste.

Represented by international galleries with works in public and corporate as well as important private collections.
Since 2000 concentration on painting and photography.
With atelier stays in New York and Hamburg.

1992-2000 international career as concert pianist. 
Several award-winning CD recordings and premieres. Performance of the world premiere of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 1 in the original version in concert and on CD with the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra under the conduction of Vladimir Fedossejev. Chamber musician with soloists of the Berlin Philharmonics. Renowned awards as the Kiefer Hablitzel Foundation Award, the UBS Jubilee Foundation Award, the Swiss Musician of the Year, the European Culture Prize, Venice/I of the European Council and the European Parliament. Inaugural prizewinner of the Armand von Ernst Banquiers Foundation.Various radio recordings and television appearances

1991-2000 author and editor. Regular projects with various publishing houses and concert organizers as well as freelance contributions as a columnist for different culture magazines. Publication of music-philosophical essays (Benteli Verlag, Berne). Well-known on the lecture circuit, frequent guest at talk-shows broadcast by the Swiss Radio.
